Studio 54 Pool Party
location: hotel dubrovnik palace
Time: 2:00pm - 7:00pm
Courtesy of the city of Dubrovnik, Dubrovnik tourism and the Palace Hotel, we have exclusive access to a location hidden behind a rock wall, which features a magical pool and terrace perched on a cliff, high above the Adriatic Sea. This space has never been offered for a daytime event, and because of its location, is completely private. Game of Thrones enthusiasts might recognize this location from King’s Landing!
Dress Code:
Sparkle, sequins, mesh, chainmail, and anything else that reminds you of the fabulous dance parties of the 70s. Gold, silver, no much is too much! If all else fails, Google Studio 54 and choose a look. It being a pool party, we can (and many will, myself included) get into the pool, so bring your swimwear or wear it under a fabulous wrap. The weather will be perfect (~80 degrees Fahrenheit) and sunny - so don’t forget your oversized aviator shades!

White Diamonds Dinner Party

To keep the festivities flowing into the night, I have arranged dinner for us all at a beautiful location along the golden walls of the old city of Dubrovnik, just in front of the harbor. Given we will be spending the afternoon dancing in the sun, this will be more of a post sunset wind-down event.
Dress Code:
White. With a Flourish. Think Ibiza. Think Mykonos. Think St. Tropez. Think sparkling white diamonds. Come in all white but don’t be afraid to add a little (or a lot of) embellishment. Of course, you should wear all your ZK jewels... they are perfect for this (and every) occasion. The restaurant venue is along the old city walls at the waterfront, so while it should be in mid-70's Fahrenheit, it will feel cooler and breezy.

OPTIONAL Dubrovnik excursions
As mentioned, the city of Dubrovnik is offering a concierge service to our guests to create bespoke experiences throughout your trip. Note that the only unplanned time during the weekend is Saturday afternoon until buses leave for the gala at 7:30pm. For this reason, coming earlier than Friday and staying later than Sunday is definitely a good idea! The city concierge is Maja Trojic, and email is best to reach her: mice@korkyra-dubrovnik.com (expect a response in 2-4 days).
Dubrovnik is a city of extraordinary natural beauty, so I strongly recommend you make great use of your Saturday afternoon! My suggestions for...
1. The High Flyer: For the first time in the history of the city, Dubrovnik is offering helicopter tours of the city and its surrounding islands. These will be chartered flights for a maximum of 4 per flight - but what an outstanding way to see this city!
2. The King-Slayer: For fellow game of thrones enthusiasts, there are many GOT themed tours. I am flying in early so I can take one in - because even if the last season didn’t quite do it for me, it has been years of watching Kings Landing from the edge of my seat... and I cannot wait to have my final GOT closure through this tour.
3. The Private-Adventure Seeker: The rugged landscape of the island makes it incredible for cliff-diving, boating and general water sports. Though this can also be booked through the hotel, our city concierge has access to more remote places where you and your plus ones might literally be the only people visible for miles! These excursions are not inexpensive (some involve return helicopters to remote islands, etc.) but again, a once in a lifetime experience!
4. The Classic First-Timer: The old city of Dubrovnik is breathtakingly beautiful; its cobblestone streets lined with bars and cafes make for an urban adventure that’s lost in a faraway time. This week specifically, all of the walls of the city come to life as the Dubrovnik Summer Festival is in full swing. This does mean it will be crowded, but it’s a full-on way to take in the heart of the city if it is your first time.
5. The Exhausted Vacationer: For those who can’t wait to relax, and might even be away from the kids for the first time in a while, I recommend a short ferry ride to one of the local islands for a restful day in the sand and the sun. We will already have significant sunshine and water (all venues are on or beside the sea!) but none of our events involve relaxation. So, take the day to enjoy the beach, and rejuvenate for the party!
6. The Lazy Birthday Boy: For me, and those like me, I will do absolutely nothing but stay at the host hotel. There is a spa, a gym, several restaurants and pools. If you, like me, enjoy calm after/between/before the storm, feel free to do absolutely nothing with me. At so many of your weddings, I have found this “downtime” to be when many of my favorite conversations happened - and so I look forward to informal catchups with whoever is around!

La Vie En Vogue: The Gala
location: Banje Beach club
Time: 8:30pm - 4:00am
We will meet at 8:00pm in the lobby of the hotel Dubrovnik Palace for transportation to the main event. after dinner, there will be dancing until 4am. Note: it is VERY easy to travel around Dubrovnik, so if you need to leave before the end, it is no problem at all. The idea is that we can all dance the night away, and celebrate under the stars with the water lapping the beach right in front of us. It will be magical!
dress Code: Strike a pose!
For the women: GO. FOR. IT! Bring your sexiest, most fashionable, colorful, most fabulous self in whatever you wish! Just no white or black please (we already had the white party - and black is just so dull). I don’t suggest ballgowns, but do not feel limited. Just think... "if VOGUE was covering the party, what would I wear?" Also, if your dress choice doesn’t work with your jewels - get a new dress....this is my birthday after all!
For the men: BRING. IT. I know you have it in you... perhaps a killer formal dinner jacket - patterns, flowers, jacquard, or an interesting tuxedo. If all else fails, you can never go wrong with a black or blue tuxedo!

Buses will begin shuttling from the host hotel at 2:50pm.
dress code: Sunset Sexy (casual, beach appropriate, but ready for EPIC sunset photos...and a finale dance party!)
